Privacy policy

This policy explains what ScanSave (scansave.app) collects and how it's used. ScanSave doesn't ask for your name, email address or phone number unless you choose to join our email list, and it doesn't sell personal data.

Visit log

When you open the ScanSave home page, our server keeps a short visit log so we can count scans. It records the date and time, your IP address, the approximate US state, city and country that our hosting provider (Cloudflare) derives from your IP address, your network provider's name, the QR code or link you came from, your browser type and the referring page. This log is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database.

We use it only to count scans by place and time and to pre-select your state on the page. IP addresses are deleted after 90 days. After that we keep only the counts and a one-way scrambled code that can't be turned back into your IP address.

Email list

If you sign up for ScanSave emails on our home page, we collect your email address, your first name if you give it, and the state you pick. To protect against spam and to keep a record of your consent, we also store the date and time you signed up, your IP address, your browser type and the exact consent wording you agreed to. This is stored in the same Cloudflare D1 database.

We use it only to send you ScanSave deals and savings. We never sell or rent your email address or share it with the companies we link to. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe anytime, or ask us to delete your details, by emailing [email protected].

Your location

If you tap "Use my location," your browser's location is used only on your device to pick your state. It is never sent to us. Your state choice is saved only in your browser.

Analytics and hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies. Cloudflare processes requests to the site under its own privacy policy.

Links to other companies

ScanSave links to apps and insurance quote sites run by other companies. When you visit them, their own privacy policies apply, and anything you enter there (such as details for an insurance quote) goes to that company, not to ScanSave.

Some links on ScanSave may be affiliate links, and ScanSave may earn a commission if you sign up or get a quote, at no extra cost to you. ScanSave is not an insurance agent or broker and doesn't give insurance advice. Rates, offers and availability are set by each company and may vary by state.
